What to Expect at Your First Massage

If you’ve never had a massage before — welcome! My goal is to make sure you feel comfortable, informed, and completely at ease from start to finish.

Before Your Massage

  • Arrive a few minutes early so you can relax and fill out a brief health form. This helps me tailor your session to your needs and make sure massage is safe for you.

  • We’ll talk about your goals — whether you want to relax, relieve pain, or address specific areas of tension.

  • You can ask any questions before we begin. There’s no such thing as a silly question!

During Your Massage

  • You’ll be asked to undress to your comfort level and lie on the massage table, covered with a sheet or blanket. Only the area being worked on will be uncovered.

  • I use professional draping techniques to ensure your privacy at all times.

  • You’ll be able to communicate freely — let me know if you’d like more or less pressure, or if something doesn’t feel right.

  • The room will be quiet, with soft music and a comfortable temperature to help you relax.

After Your Massage

  • You may feel deeply relaxed or even a little sleepy — that’s normal!

  • Drink some water and take a few minutes to transition slowly before resuming your day.

  • It’s common to feel lighter, looser, or even slightly sore the next day as your muscles adjust.
