What to Expect at Your First Massage
Welcome. If this is your first massage, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, informed, and completely at ease from start to finish.
Before Your Massage
You’ll complete a brief medical history form so I can tailor your session to your needs and ensure massage is appropriate for you. We’ll talk about your goals for the session, whether you’re here to relax, relieve pain, or address specific areas of tension. You’re always welcome to ask questions — there’s no such thing as a silly question.
During Your Massage
You’ll undress to your comfort level and lie on the massage table, covered with a sheet or blanket. Only the area being worked on will be uncovered, and professional draping is used at all times to protect your privacy. You can communicate freely during the session — pressure can always be adjusted, and you should let me know if anything doesn’t feel right. The room is quiet, with soft music and a comfortable temperature to support relaxation.
After Your Massage
It’s normal to feel deeply relaxed or even a little sleepy afterward. Take a few moments to transition slowly before resuming your day. Drinking water can be helpful, and it’s common to feel lighter, looser, or mildly sore as your muscles adjust.
A Final Note
Massage is about you and your comfort. Every session is customized to your body and needs. Whether your goal is relaxation, stress relief, or relief from muscle tension, you’re in caring hands.
